Pokemon Champions Regulations, Explained
How Champions' seasonal rulesets work, what changes between them, and the dates you need to know.
What is a Regulation?
Champions refreshes its ranked rules on a season cadence. Each Regulation groups several seasons and defines which Pokemon, Mega Evolutions and battle parameters are legal. When a Regulation rotates, part of the roster or some Mega Stones enter or leave — which is why team builders and tier lists go stale every few months. Always confirm the current list on Serebii's Champions pages or the official site before committing to a box.
Known Regulation dates
| Regulation | Starts | Ends |
|---|---|---|
| Regulation M-B | June 17, 2026 | September 8, 2026 |
| Regulation M-C | September 9, 2026 | December 2, 2026 |

What stays constant
- Ranked Battles are 3v3 with one Mega Evolution allowed per battle.
- Stat customization always uses 66 stat points, 32 per stat — Regulations change the roster, not the math.
- Natures, abilities and moves are freely adjustable in game (via Victory Points or Training Tickets).
Adapting your box at a rotation
When a new Regulation drops, rebuild rather than patch: run your box through the team builder against the new roster, re-check your type coverage, and re-verify any Mega stone legality. A box that was top-tier under the previous rules is often two fixes away from being legal and strong again.
